Seconds Count Gala Ball 2018

OUR FOURTH EVENT WILL BE held on SATURDAY 2 JUNE 2018, 7PM for 7.30PM.

TICKETS ARE On sALE NOW - PLEASE FOLLOW THIS LINK TO BOOK.

Tickets are for tables of 12 ($1,920 plus booking fee) and include all drinks (beer, wine, soft drinks), a three course meal and plenty of awesome entertainment. Please contact us to advise of any dietary requirements.

Like our previous events, this event will support metastatic breast cancer awareness and research. While there was inevitably a serious side, it was again an uplifting event associated with a ‘can-do’ attitude and the belief that, despite often trying circumstances, it’s important to live life to the full, do what makes you happy and make every second count!

There were plenty of opportunities to raise money for the Andree Greenwood Secondary Breast Cancer Research Program, by the University of Tasmania's Menzies Institute for Medical Research.

Please contact us if you have any questions.

Why this event is different

Why this event is different

While breast cancer fundraisers and ‘pink’ events typically focus on helping to prevent breast cancer, this event focussed specifically on raising funds and awareness of metastatic breast cancer.

Metastatic breast cancer (also known as secondary breast cancer) refers to the stage when the disease has spread beyond the breast into other adjacent parts of the body (most commonly bones, lungs, liver or brain). If the cancer spreads past the breast, it is currently incurable.

We need more resources directed towards research into metastatic breast cancer, as researchers believe that a cure can be found. In the meantime, we can also provide immediate help to those women and men facing this diagnosis – through increasing awareness and providing better support and access to resources. Together, we can find ways to improve and extend their quality of life.

This event raised funds for the Andree Greenwood Secondary Breast Cancer Reseach Program, a specific research project being undertaken by the University of Tasmania’s Menzies Institute for  Medical Research to understand better the factors that are important in cancer spread, including breast cancer.
